Imagine you're playing an actual good party game like Mario Party Superstars, right? You take the many boards that exist in the game, the diverse cast of characters, the personality from the stages, and just about everything. Strip away unlocking mini-games and matter of fact, strip away 50% of the mini-games. That's not enough? Strip away 70%. 80%, 90%? 99%? Nope, let's make it 99.999999999999% until you only have one mini-game. Not just any mini-game, but the most boring, autonomous, and lackluster mini-game there is. We're not done creating L.O.L. Surprise! B.B.S Born To Travel just yet.

In fact, let's bring on the L.O.L. Surprise! brand for a second. When I covered the Movie Night game last year for the holidays, I mentioned how outright jarring the game was. Coincidence! It's Outright Games again but let's not worry about that. It was a different developer AND publisher who worked on the game. It wasn't a good game by any measure of the word, but it had character, a story, an environment to explore, and things to do at least. It is LEAGUES better than this drink coaster.

These creepy gremlin dolls have decided it's not just enough to be Hollywood stars, no. It's time to go around the world and give other creepy gremlin bug-eyed cretin dolls the gift of...creating L.O.L. Surprise! dolls. That's the entire game. The player roams around various levels, filling ingredients and making various dolls to give to the customer. After a set quota is reached it's on to the next level. New worlds introduce "new mechanics," but you're playing the same. exact. mini-game. at least over 30 times.

As you complete levels, you unlock various dolls in a cheaply made "loot box" that does absolutely nothing because you can only view them in gallery mode. They do nothing but make the same exact pose and the same creepy noise every time you select to view them. There's also a "concert mode" where you "press buttons" and things happen. It has nothing to do with the main game and it's a waste of time.

L.O.L. Surprise! B.B.S Born To Travel

I think the "Chemical X" to this recipe is that the game has the nerve to have DLC. For $6, you have an island DLC which is the same game but it's a bonus world with bonus dolls. The DLC is aptly called L.O.L. Surprise! B.B.S Born To Travel "On Vacay," and if I play one more worthless game like this I'm going to request to go "on vacay." Don't even buy this on a grey market key seller website "for the memez." Just play Overcooked 2.

L.O.L. Surprise! B.B.S Born To Travel is available on most major platforms.
