Initially, I had no thoughts of making a title and simply using the game's title as this article's header. Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator is a name so precise, so accurate, and yet it is far crazier than your imagination is led to believe. There is no story, no build-up, just a classic Amiga-style computer graphic engine and a lone spaceship flying across a 1980s aesthetic. While the game was released on PC and Xbox in 2019, the Switch version is the most recent as it has also received an exclusive physical version published by Serenity Forge.

The contents include a digital download soundtrack, a poster that serves as a "periodic table" of various organs, and a holographic sticker with a dog's head. Ironically, I mentioned how the dog could potentially be a character or an NPC. I quote, "It'd be funny if the dog is a playable character in Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator." Turns out, I was wrong. There are two dogs and one of them wears a spiffy hat. Before you begin your tycoon dreams, you have to choose from various characters.

Robots, aliens, astronauts, eldritch abominations, and so much more await the player. The roster is weird enough to rival Monopoly's shoe, car, and hat line-up. Once you create your personality, you are taken to the main menu. Nothing makes sense at first, but there's a big giant red button that's begging you to press it. So you do, because it's a big red giant button right? What happens next is two minutes of absolute chaos.

Hundreds of requests from clients are flooding your inbox, all asking for various organs. Some want eyeballs, some want hearts, some want lungs, and others want kidneys. With a starting balance, you go through the market, scanning your eyes for requests and purchasing organs on the low. The profit you gain from selling the organs to your client teaches that "buying low and selling high" is the way to go. As you fulfill requests, you gain a reputation that allows you to buy more organs and take lucrative requests.

Just as quickly as it began, the market closes and you're probably left staring at your screen wondering what in space just happened. Welcome to Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator. On the surface, this is the core of the game. With the money earned, you get upgrades for your cargo. Some upgrades halt the decay rate of organs (they are living organisms after all). Others increase the rate but provide massive amounts of storage.

If you're feeling really devious, the player can even influence the market by doing a little "pump and dump." Sure it's unethical but you're selling organs. What's a little stock market crash if it means you can buy your organs on the cheap, right? There's not much to talk about Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator as the first several in-game days tell you all you need to know. The serotonin of seeing virtual money pile up with a highly quirky premise is enough to keep players entertained for a few hours. With interesting packaging alongside an interesting game, this is something Switch owners would want to try out for their collection.
